Myofunctional Therapy services offered in the Brigham City, Utah area and virtually worldwide.
What is Myofunctional Therapy?
A Myofunctional Therapy program is specific to the individual, but the goal is always the same, help the body return to function as it was designed to by creating healthy oral habits. These habits include:
Constant Lip Seal
Constant Nasal Breathing
Correct Resting Tongue Posture
Correct Swallow Pattern
Eliminate Muscle Compensations
Myofunctional therapy works by gently retraining the muscles of the tongue, lips, jaw, and face so they can work together the way they are meant to. Through simple exercises and daily habit changes, these muscles learn to function correctly at rest and during everyday activities like breathing, swallowing, chewing, and speaking.
Rather than focusing only on symptoms, myofunctional therapy addresses the muscle patterns that influence oral function and breathing, helping create lasting, functional change over time.
How does it work?
Step 1:
Schedule and meet for your Comprehensive Myofunctional Evaluation either in person or online. Here we will go over a symptom history, pictures and measurements to understand your specific needs. We will also perform functional evaluations to test for a tongue tie, lack of tongue space or need for palatal expansion, and functional swallow pattern. Any necessary referrals will be made. I have trusted providers that I work with and will make sure that you are sent to a qualified professional.
Step 2:
Meet for your individualized therapy sessions every 2 weeks for about 30 minutes. The number of sessions needed may vary by individual, but typical is between 12-14.
Step 3:
Do your exercises at home for 5 minutes twice a day. The more consistent you are, the better your results will be!

Meet Your Therapist
Hi my name is Emilee. My journey into myofunctional therapy began as a mom. When my son was born with a severe tongue tie that went undiagnosed by two pediatricians and a lactation consultant, I experienced firsthand how often oral function issues can be missed, and how deeply they can impact a child and family. That experience sparked a passion to get more training and ultimately led me into myofunctional therapy.
Today, I’m dedicated to helping families understand what’s happening beneath the surface and supporting healthy, functional habits that allow the body to do what it was designed to do.
Outside of my work, I’m married to the love of my life and am a mom to two boys. We love adventuring in the Utah mountains, spending time outdoors, and traveling together whenever we can.
